A Call to
Nineveh!
We are currently running an eBay store in our spare
time. This has truly been a blessing from God. It has
allowed us to begin disposing of the things we won't
need overseas, as well as make some extra money on
the side to begin saving for the next step in our journey.
We are very thankful to everyone who has taken the time
to donate items for our store! If you can't partner with us
financially, do you have any items that you no longer
need?

Every item must be catalogued and
photographed. We then list every item
individually and describe the item in detail. We
research current selling prices and then we build
the ad. We normally have around 300-400 items
up for sale at any one time.
We then move the item from the staging area to
an area where the items are stored while
awaiting bids. During the bidding period we
answer questions that potential buyers submit by
email. We also quote shipping prices to
destinations all over the world. We have sold
items to buyers from 6 different continents and
more countries than we can count. All in all, we
average about 150+ emails that require a
personalized response each week.
The auction atmosphere of eBay allows some
items to sell for even more than we hope for! In
addition, we have an eBay store which allows us
to have control of several web pages that we
can fill with whatever we want. It is a great
opportunity for us to share our faith and what
God is doing in our lives. So, even if an item
doesn't make any money, we still consider this a
success because we have earned a chance to
share our story.
We then package each item for shipping to its
new home. Rachel makes frequent trips to the
post office and is responsible for shipping up to
70 packages per week! (Thanks sweetie!)
After shipment, I continue to follow up by email
to ensure that the customers receive their items
and are satisfied with their purchases. It is a lot
of work, but well worth the effort.
By far, the best part of the eBay business is how we acquire the
items for sale. Many of our items have been donated by our
friends & family. The rest of the items are our own personal
effects that we won't be able to take with us. We are also buying
items from yard sales, estate sales, and storage unit auctions. All
of this has resulted in extra income to begin funding our projects
overseas. If you would like to donate or sell some items that you
no longer need, please feel free to contact us.
